 Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Do you offer tastings?

A. Yes, we gladly offer cake tastings and consultations. In order to accommodate your requests, we suggest booking tastings at least two weeks in advance.  If our schedule allows, we also try to accept last minute tastings. Usually brides & grooms choose 2-3 flavor combinations to taste.  A mini cake will be freshly prepared in each flavor you would like to try.

Q. Is there a charge for the consultation? How long can we expect to be there?

A. There is a $30 per cake fee for tastings due at the time of scheduling. If you decide to get your cake from us we will take the cake tasting fee off the final bill. Please keep in mind that cake samples are prepared specifically for your appointment. We ask for the courtesy of 72 hours notice if your appointment needs to be rescheduled. Cancellations without the appropriate notice are non-refundable.

Q. What do I need to bring to our consultation?

A. The more information you have decided upon prior to our meeting (i.e. style, color, florals), the more effective the design process.  Additionally, any element from your event that you feel we can draw inspiration from is great to bring. For example, pictures of your dress, venue, invitations, monograms, color swatches, fabric patterns or a picture of another cake from a magazine can all be helpful. If you have no idea what you want, that is fine as well. We can browse through our cake gallery and magazines to come up with ideas. The design process is a collaborative effort and we’ll keep going until you have a design you love.

Q. What Can I Expect To Pay For A Wedding Cake? Do you have a price list?

A. We do not have a general price list because each cake is one-of-a-kind. Our cakes are priced per person. The price starts at $8/person for a plain butter cream cake. The price increases depending on the intricacy of the cake design selected. The average cake price is $10 to $12 per person. Because of the care given to each cake, we require a minimum of $200 on all of our cakes.

Before you arrive for your consultation, it is helpful to have a budget in mind for what you would like to spend on your cake. This will give us a better sense of what we can design for you.

Q. Does your minimum apply to birthday cakes?

A. No.  See the prices on the birthday cake page.

Q. Do I have to make a deposit to reserve my wedding date?  If so, how much is it and can I get a refund, if necessary?

A. Yes, you will need to make a 50 percent deposit to reserve your wedding date on our calendar. We will base your deposit on the total estimated amount at the time of the deposit.  We ask that you be absolutely certain that you would like to work with us, as all deposits are date specific and non-refundable. The balance of the cake will be due two weeks prior to the event. All payments are non-refundable.

Q. How far in advance should I order a cake?

A. We are often booked up many months ahead of time so the sooner the better to reserve your place on our calendar. We require a minimum of one month notice. We definitely attempt to accommodate last minute requests if our schedule allows. Please call or email to find out our availability for your particular date.

Q. Do you make individual cakes, cupcakes, and decorated cookies?

A. Yes. We do custom designed cupcakes, starting at $6 per person. Individual cakes start at $25 each for one tier. Custom wedding favor cookies start at $10. Please contact us for additional information.

Q. If I want fresh flowers on my cake how can that be arranged?

A.  Your florist will provide the flowers for your cake. During the design process we will discuss the flower selection and quantity with your florist to make sure we are on the same page. The florist will arrange the flowers onsite after our delivery window, which is typically an hour prior to your event.

Q. I am not ready to make design decisions yet but I want to reserve our date so you don’t get booked up, is that possible?

A. Yes, you can save the date with a 50% deposit of the estimated cost.  We ask that you are absolutely sure you want to get a cake from us before putting down a deposit because all payments are non-refundable.

Q. What is your delivery area? What do you charge for delivery?

A.  We deliver all over the Roaring Fork Valley including Aspen, Snowmass, and Redstone. We are willing to travel anywhere our cakes can safely be delivered so please contact us to inquire about a specific location.

Delivery and set up fees are additional and depend on the event site location.

Q. Do you ship your cakes?

A. No, we do not ship our cakes.
